Sheffield United v Bristol City

This was rather an odd evening. Bitterly cold and with the match being shown on SKY, the attendance wasn't what it has been lately.
Bristol City brought along their faithful 200 or so, but the 'away end' soon became tedious and irritating to the ears as they only have one song! "Ole, ole, ole, ole, Bris-tol Ci-ty" repeated ad nauseam soon wore everyone down!
In the first half, though, the Blades' supporters were totally silent – at times you could have heard the proverbial pin drop! Very, very odd.
For the first 20 minutes I wondered whether the Blades' players were actually going to touch the ball . . . Bristol City kept total possession, passing quickly among themselves, resisting all tackles and efforts to win the ball. The high spot was a quite brilliant save pulled off by Michael Cooper when the ball looked almost certain to cross the line.
For the second half, Gus Hamer came on as a substitute and linked up very well with Tyrese Campbell who got past the Bristol City goalkeeper and calmly slotted the ball home for yet another goal.

There was a penalty call from the Blades as Cameron Pring hauled Harrison Burrows down in the box and tempers threatened to boil over in the aftermath with both captains (shame on them!) being given yellow cards. Bristol City, though, capitalised on the previous pressure they'd shown in possession, allowing Mark Sykes to find space to one side of Michael Cooper to even up the score.
We have a game in hand over Leeds United, but for now, we're back to top of the league!
