Sheffield United v Blackburn Rovers
Apr. 23rd, 2026 01:04 pmOn a very cold evening, the Blades gave a rather pitiful performance (from which half the fans left at half time, including the man and son who sit next to me!) so I’m not going to dwell on this match, which is best forgotten!
The team selection, shape and plan (if there was one) just did not work. We seemed slow, unadventurous and quite honestly, the players looked as if they didn’t want to be there.
Blackburn wanted the win more and were much quicker, determined and seemed to know all our weaknesses – see the fact that they scored 3 goals in the first half! The first was laughable; the second hilarious; and the third just a tap in as the Blades’ players stood still and watched. Dreadful.
Harrison Burrows did manage to claw back one goal (and you can see all the empty seats behind him!);

but Blackburn just sat back which meant we just moved the ball sides and backwards and went nowhere.
Having travelled to the game, sat in the cold wind and watched this mess, I was rather glad to get home!
(Sorry for being negative, but not much to celebrate).
